Blues Welcome New Players to Orange County

Irvine, CA (August 8, 2014)- The Blues are excited to announce new additions to Orange County; Thomas "Eli" Garner, Alex Martinez, Brenton Griffiths and Marco Franco.

The players have recently signed with the Blues ready to bring some flavor to the team from Jamaica, Uruguay, North Carolina and the return of a local to his home stadium.

Thomas "Eli" Garner from Durham, North Carolina previously played or Dayton Dutch Lions.

Alex Martinez who was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. After a strong showing at the MLS Player Combine, Martinez saw minutes in seven of Sporting Kansas City's 10 preseason matches and contributed three assists.

Brenton Griffiths was born in Spanish Towne, Jamaica. Griffiths was acquired and signed by the Colorado Rapids on April 30, 2013 after being drafted 25th overall (second round) in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft on January 22, 2013.Made his MLS debut as a late sub on May 18, 2013 at San Jose in a 1-1 draw. Griffiths also played for the Jamaican Under-17 and Under-20 National Teams.

Marco Franco returns to his home stadium, on loan from the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. Franco, was first round selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.

The new aditions are ready to play Pittsburgh Riverhounds in just one hour. Kickoff is set for a 4 p.m. PST at Highmark Stadium, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Be sure to catch them live on youtube.com/ThePghRiverhounds.
