Calgary Stampeders News Release

History will be made at McMahon Stadium on Saturday as the expansion Ottawa RedBlacks make their first-ever visit. Kickoff for the Week 7 contest is at 5:30 p.m.

Calgary takes a 4-1 mark into the game as the Stamps' season-opening four-game winning streak was snapped by a one-point loss - 25-24 - to the BC Lions at McMahon last week.

Calgary is tied for second place in the West Division with Edmonton at 4-1, with Winnipeg leading the way at 5-1.

The RedBlacks fell to 1-4 on Saturday after dropping a 38-14 decision on home field to the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Ottawa is part of a tightly grouped East Division in which all four teams have four losses. First-place Toronto is 2-4 while Ottawa, Montreal and Hamilton are all 1-4.

Ottawa is coached by former Stampeders defensive coordinator Rick Campbell and led by former Stamps QB Henry Burris. Running back Chevon Walker ranks third in the CFL with 445 yards from scrimmage.

With an average of 15.4 points allowed per game, the Stamps own the league's stingiest defence. Ottawa's offence is averaging 18.8 points per game.

Saturday marks the first game in Calgary by a team from the Nation's Capital since the Ottawa Renegades were at McMahon Stadium on Sept. 22, 2005. The Stamps beat the Renegades 45-23 on that occasion.

Family Day Pre-game Party presented by Dodge

The fun starts three-and-a-half hours before kickoff at 2 p.m. with the Dodge Fan Zone Pre-game Party on the field immediately south of McMahon Stadium and the south parking lot. The event is free for anyone holding a game ticket and includes plenty of activities and attractions including inflatables, games, giveaways, face-painting, player autographs, food trucks, a live DJ and Ralph the Dog.

Little Miss Outrider presented by Jayman

The popular Little Miss Outrider program, presented by Jayman, is back as the aspiring cheerleaders from ages 5 to 18 will be performing during a special halftime show.
