Americans Sign Two, Host Quad City Tonight

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced today they have signed two players, Goalie Willie Yanakeff, and defenseman Steve Tarasuk, both will be in the lineup tonight when the Americans host the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 pm at Allen Event Center.
Willie Yanakeff joins the Americans from Michigan State University where he played in 58 games over four seasons with the Spartans. The native of Jerome, Michigan spent two seasons in the Unites States Hockey League with Waterloo and Sioux City and one season with the North American Hockey League with the under 18 squad where he had a 2.10 GAA and a .916 SV %.
Steve Tarasuk, who has been playing pro hockey since 2009, adds veteran leadership to the Allen blue-line. He has played in 232 professional games with 116 points. Prior to Allen, he played in 14 games for the Ontario Reign, of the ECHL, where he had five points and six penalty minutes
The Americans look to extend their three game winning streak tonight, when they face Quad City. Allen is currently two points behind Denver for the number two overall spot in the CHL Standings. The Americans have picked up 15 out of a possible 16 points in their last eight games.
