Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRaiders in the first game of a four-game series from PNC Field (7:05 p.m.). Today's game is also the start of an eight-game roadtrip for the Herd as it will also travel to Pawtucket. The Bisons are coming off a 1-3 home series loss to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs.

vs. RailRiders

This is the second series between the Bisons and RailRiders this year. The two teams played just two of a scheduled four-game set at Coca-Cola Field, April 11-14, because of rain. The two clubs split an April 14 doubleheader. The Bisons were 4-4 at PNC Field last season.

Tonight's Starters

RHP CLAUDIO VARGAS makes his team-high 12th start of the season tonight. The veteran allowed just one earned run over five innings in a win over the Tides on Monday. On the season, Vargas is 3-1 with a 3.34 ERA in six road starts this season.

Roster Moves

The Blue Jays have activated RHP DUSTIN McGOWAN from his MLB injury rehab assignment with the Herd. In eight outings with Buffalo, the righty posted a 7.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts in nine innings of work. Toronto also announced that RHP TODD REDMOND has been optioned to the Herd. He is 1-0 with a 9.53 ERA in two games and a start with the Bisons this season.

Gose returns

In his first action since being optioned by Toronto, OF ANTHONY GOSE picked up a hit in each game of last night's doubleheader. The outfielder now has a four-game hit streak at Triple-A over which he has averaged .308 (4-13). Gose is 7th in the International League with 36 runs scored despite spending almost three weeks in the big leagues.

Luis Jimenez

INF LUIS JIMENEZ clubbed his 13th home run of the season in yesterday's first game. The slugger now has 52 RBI on the season, three more than any other player in the International League. Jimenez is also 4th in the IL in average (.338) and slugging pct. (.595). He has also hit .433 (13-30) with runners in scoring position and two outs.

Bisons Bits

INF JIM NEGRYCH leads the IL in average, as his .35326 is .0006 ahead of Rochester's Chris Colabello...RHP JOHN STILSON earned his first Triple-A win last night and has now allowed just three hits in 9.1 innings of work over six appearances.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (26-34) defeated the Rangers, 6-1 last night. Former Bisons RHP NEIL WAGNER picked up his first career big league win with 1.1 innings of shutout relief. OF MELKY CABRERA added his third home run of the season. The Blue Jays host the Rangers again this afternoon.
