
Aviators Lose Lead Late, Fall in Traverse City 4-3

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, saw a 3-0 lead slip away Friday night in Traverse City, losing by a final score of 4-3 at Wuerfel Park.
The Aviators, now 1-6 on the year, got a good start from pitcher Jon Gulbransen, who worked six scoreless innings and struck out seven, earning a no decision.
The Beach Bums' (3-4) starter, Scott Dunn, also pitched well, going seven innings and allowing three runs on five hits while striking out five on his way to picking up the win and improving his record to 2-0.
The three runs allowed by Dunn all came in the Rockford sixth. With one out, Alvaro Ramirez tripled to right-center and was brought home by a Ted Obregon single. Michael Hur then singled to put runners on the corners with one out. Kenny Bryant singled to score Obregon and Matt Greener hit a sacrifice fly to plate Hur to give the Aviators a 3-0 in the middle of the sixth.
Rockford went to the bullpen in the seventh. Traverse City sent 10 batters to the plate and struck for four runs on five hits, taking the lead 4-3. after seven. Neither team would get a baserunner the rest of the game.
Beach Bums' closer Matt Miller came in and worked a perfect ninth to pick up his second save of the season.
