Mudcats Rank Among Top 25 for Merchandise Sales

Zebulon, N.C. - For the second straight year, the Carolina Mudcats can count themselves among the top 25 teams in Minor League Baseball for licensed merchandise sales. Rankings are based on wholesale sales reported from January 1 to December 31, 2012. The Mudcats are the only member of the Carolina League to post among the best in MiLB.

Minor League Baseball announced earlier this week its national Licensing Program, consisting of the 160 clubs in the domestic-based leagues that charge admission to their games, generated an estimated $54 million in sales of licensed merchandise last year. The 2012 figure is a 3.3% increase over 2011 and ranks as the third largest yearly total since the program's inception in 1991. Sales of MiLB™ merchandise last year trail only 1994 ($60 million), and 2008 ($54.7 million).
