SALEM, VA (MAY 22, 2013) - Due to consistent showers throughout the afternoon and the threat of continued rain during the evening, the Dash's Wednesday night game against the Salem Red Sox at LewisGale Field was postponed.

As a result, Winston-Salem and Salem will conclude this three-game series with a doubleheader Thursday, with first pitch for game one scheduled for 5 p.m. The twin bill finale will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.

This is the Dash's fourth game affected by rain. Winston-Salem has now had three postponements and one suspended game. The club's lone doubleheader thus far this season resulted in a Dash sweep over Wilmington on April 20 at BB&T Ballpark.

Winston entered Wednesday's play with a four-game winning streak, which matches the squad's longest of 2013. The Dash swept Potomac over the weekend in the Triad before pummeling the Red Sox 11-1 in their road trip lid-lifter Tuesday night.

The Dash trail first-place Myrtle Beach by five-and-a-half games in the Southern Division's first-half standings. Winston-Salem does lead Salem by two-and-a-half games for second place.

The probable starters have yet to be officially announced for Thursday's double dip. However, both of Wednesday's probables, Winston-Salem right-hander Chris Beck (2-6, 2.80 ERA) and Salem righty Kyle Stroup (2-2, 3.78 ERA), are expected to start one of the games. Pregame coverage begins at 4:45 p.m. on wsdash.com, and part of the action will be broadcast on 600 AM-WSJS in the Winston-Salem area.

The Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Memorial Day for the first of eight games in seven days at home. Winston-Salem kicks off this homestand with a single game Monday at 5 p.m. before a doubleheader at 6 p.m. Tuesday. For tickets, call the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
