Houston Dynamo to Host FC Tucson on May 29 in Third Round of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup

HOUSTON (Tuesday, May 21, 2013) - The Houston Dynamo will face FC Tucson of the Premier Development League in a third-round matchup of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The game will be played on Wednesday, May 29 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. Kickoff for this match is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.

This will be the first-ever meeting between both clubs. FC Tucson advanced to the third round of the US Open Cup tonight by defeating the San Antonio Scorpions 4-3 in penalty kicks after playing to a 2-2 tie in regulation.

The 2013 U.S. Open Cup marks the 100th edition of the tournament that features clubs across several levels of the U.S. Soccer pyramid. This year, Major League Soccer clubs enter the tournament in the third round of the single-elimination tournament.

Should the Dynamo defeat FC Tucson, they will advance to the fourth round of the tournament, set for June 12. The possible fourth round opponent and venue are yet to be determined.
