TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Traverse City Beach Bums are reaching out to the people in Moore, OK who were devastated by the May 20 tornado by announcing the "May For Moore" campaign.

Beach Bums Director of Media & Broadcasting Chad Cooper is coordinating the effort and kicked off the drive by pledging $2 for every run Traverse City scores for the remainder of the month of May towards tornado relief.

"Being a professional sports team, we have a unique opportunity to connect with a large number of people," said Cooper. "The Beach Bums and their fans are among the most generous people we know and together we want to help make a difference in the lives of our fellow Americans who have had their lives torn apart by this tragedy."

Fans can participate by emailing their pledge per run scored to chad@tcbeachbums.com and putting May for Moore in the subject. No pledge amount per run scored to the relief effort is too small. Fans are also asked to use the hashtag #mayformooreok in any tweets they may send.

The Beach Bums have 10 games remaining in May beginning with tonight's home opener against Evansville at 7:05 pm.
