May 19, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release

Brad Nelson drove in five runs Sunday in the Iowa Cubs 7-3 victory over the Tucson Padres. The two teams split the four-game series at Principal Park.

Tucson went ahead in the top of the first after three consecutive hits anchored by Brandon Allen's RBI single to put the Padres ahead, 1-0. Nelson's seventh home run of the season, a two-run shot to dead center, put Iowa up 2-1 in the fourth. Two batters later Donnie Murphy sent a fly ball over the left field wall for the second home run of the inning.

Daniel Robertson cut the Cubs lead to one in the top of the fifth with an RBI single to right. Nelson responded in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run double for Iowa. Nelson would later score on a J.C. Boscan's RBI groundout. Allen's ninth-inning sacrifice fly brought the Padres within four runs of the lead in the ninth, but Yoanner Negrin was able to hold off the rally and secure the win for Iowa. The Padres had multiple opportunities late, leaving four runners on base in the final three innings.

Nick Struck earned the win for the Cubs after pitching six innings and allowing two runs. Wilfredo Boscan was charged with the loss after surrendering seven earned runs on nine hits in four innings of work.
