Patriots Power Past Riversharks 11-4

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots defeated the Camden Riversharks 11-4 in front of 7,007 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.
The Riversharks scored first in the second inning on back-to-back homeruns by Chris Walker (1) and Juan Martinez (1) for the 2-0 lead.
Camden added to their lead the following inning on an RBI single by Walker to make the score 3-0.
Somerset scored two runs in the bottom half of the fourth on a solo homerun by Corey Smith (3) and an RBI groundout by Eddy Martinez-Esteve to cut the lead to 3-2.
The Riversharks tacked on a run in the top of the fifth on a solo homerun by Salomon Martinez (1) to give them a 4-2 lead.
The Patriots cut the lead to one in the bottom half of the frame on an RBI double by Jake Fox.
Somerset rallied to take the lead in the sixth after Dan Hennigan scored on an error, Josh Kroeger blasted an RBI double, Fox forced home a run with a walk, and Smith walked to bring home another run to make the score 7-4.
The Patriots brought home four more runs in the eighth highlighted by an RBI double by Smith for the 11-4 final.
Patriots starter Graham Taylor (2-0) got the win after allowing four runs in seven innings of work. Camden starter Brian Bass (1-5) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on six hits in 5.1 innings pitched.
The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on Saturday evening when the Patriots take on the Camden Riversharks at 7:05 pm.
