Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
The Skeeters lost back-to-back games for only the second time this season, after they fell to the Bluefish again on Thursday night 7-1. Errors and walks hurt the Skeeters more than anything. A throwing error by starting pitcher Bobby Livingston led to Bridgeport's first run and a 1-0 lead. The Skeeters were able to tie the game 1-1 on Michael Rockett's solo homerun in the bottom of the second. In the top of the fourth, the Bluefish scored four times thanks in part to two Skeeters throwing errors and two walks and led 5-1.
Livingston pitched 3.2 innings allowing five runs, but only one was earned. Bridgeport scored solo runs in the eighth and ninth and went on to win by that 7-1 final. For the Bluefish, Keith Bilodeau went 5 innings, allowing only one run on three hits, walked two and struck out three.
Up Next: The Skeeters are home again on Friday at 7:05 p.m., RHP Michael Nix (2-0, 1.33 ERA) throws for the Skeeters and is opposed on the mound by Bluefish RHP Mike Parisi (1-2, 2.25 ERA). Friday is Pink in the Park Night at Constellation Field, sponsored by Memorial Hermann. All proceeds are benefitting the Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Breast Center. Also Friday is a Dr. Larry Caldwell's Kids Run the Bases night.
