Today's Game: The RedHawks kick off a 12-day, 13-game road trip when they open their series with the Sacramento River Cats at 9:05 p.m. central time. Reigning Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week Brett Oberholtzer makes the start for OKC.

Last Game: The RedHawks were able to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Salt Lake Bees and won Tuesday's series finale, 3-2, in front a season-high crowd of 10,280 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks led 1-0 heading into the sixth, but the Bees scored runs in the sixth and seventh to go in front, 2-1. With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, the RedHawks tied the game on a wild pitch. Still tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the RedHawks loaded the bases with two outs. Austin Wates stepped up and delivered his first RBI as a RedHawk with a base hit to right-center field to win the game.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Brett Oberholtzer will try and put on a strong encore performance following his stellar start Friday against Tacoma. Oberholtzer went a season-high 5.2 innings and allowed no runs and only one hit. He retired 13 of the first 14 batters he faced and did not allow a hit until there was one out in the fifth inning. Oberholtzer also struck out a season-best nine batters, the highest total he has had in 21 career Triple-A starts...For his efforts, Oberholtzer was named PCL Pitcher of the Week...Last start was hopefully a sign of things to come for the lefty, who's been inconsistent in 2013...He's allowed four or more runs in four of his six starts this season...He faced Sacramento once last season in Oklahoma City and despite allowing just two runs and five hits over seven innings, he was tagged with a loss.

Against the River Cats: 2013: 0-0 2012: 0-4 All-time: 27-33 In Sacramento: 12-16

The RedHawks have dropped six-straight games to Sacramento dating back to 2011...The River Cats swept the RedHawks last Aug. 10-13, becoming the only visiting team to claim a sweep in OKC. The sweep was part of a season-worst 10-game losing streak. All three games were decided by three runs or less...The RedHawks split their last trip to Raley Field in 2011. That series included the third-longest game in RedHawks history, when the River Cats won 3-2 in 16 innings on May 21, 2011 on an RBI single by Eric Sogard...The RedHawks last won a series in Sacramento in 2004 and have not won the season series in seven of the last eight years.

The House Tony D Built: Prior to joining the RedHawks in 2011, manager Tony DeFrancesco was the Sacramento skipper for seven seasons (2003-2007; 2009-2010). He compiled a 578-429 record and won six division titles and thee PCL championships.

Big 12 Big Trip: Today is the first day of the RedHawks annual 12-day road trip while the Big 12 Baseball Championship takes place at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. After this series, the RedHawks will continue onto Fresno then Des Moines, where they will play five games in four days to make up for an earlier postponement against the Iowa Cubs. Last season the RedHawks went 6-6 during their Big 12 road trip, with stops in Reno, Colorado Springs, and Albuquerque.

Recent Transactions: Second baseman Jake Elmore was recalled to Houston Tuesday after Astros second baseman Jose Altuve was placed on the Bereavement List. Also, pitcher Wes Musick was placed on the Disabled List yesterday. Outfielder Fernando Martinez joins the team today after recently being outrighted off the Astros 40-Man Roster. Martinez spent the bulk of 2012 with the RedHawks, hitting a career-high .314 with 13 homers and 62 RBI. He batted .182 with one home run and three RBI in 11 games with the Astros this season and has not seen game action since May 5 after being designated for assignment. Relief pitcher Alex Sogard has been promoted from Double-A Corpus Christi, where he posted a 0.71 ERA and recorded three saves in 10 appearances. Infielder Raoul Torrez joins the RedHawks for a second time this season after spending the last couple of weeks with High-A Lancaster.

Start Me Up: Over the eight games during the previous homestand, the starting rotation combined for a 2.20 ERA (11 ER/45.0 IP) and allowed only 31 hits with 19 walks and 44 strikeouts. The starter allowed one or no runs five times.

At Your Own RISP: The RedHawks have held their opponents to a .153 average (9-for-59) with runners in scoring position over the last six games as well as a .165 mark (13-for-79) during the previous homestand.

Valdez's Hat Trick: Jose Valdez earned his third win of the season Tuesday. Coming into this season, Valdez had notched one win in 112 appearances since joining the Astros organization in 2010.

The Runnin' RedHawks of OKC: Tuesday marked just the second time in the last 17 games the RedHawks did not steal a base. They currently lead the league with 56 stolen bases, including 35 in the last 17 games.

Bases Loaded Lethargy: The RedHawks had been 0-for-7 with no RBI with the bases loaded in the Salt Lake series until Austin Wates' game-winning single the in ninth inning Tuesday. The RedHawks are hitting .250 with the bases full this season after hitting .370 with the bases loaded in 2012.

Opening Acts: One of the few blemishes on the RedHawks solid season thus far is their 3-7 record in series openers, including a 1-3 mark on the road.

Running With the Pac: The RedHawks are in the midst of a stretch of 16-straight games against Pacific Conference foes, going 5-3 so far. Last season the RedHawks went 14-17 against the other side of the league, including a 6-10 mark on the road.
