Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Chris Heisey and left-handed reliever Manny Parra are both in Pensacola on Major League rehab assignments. This is the first time in the two years of affiliation that Pensacola has hosted Major League rehabbing players.

Heisey injured his hamstring April 27 against the Washington Nationals. He has played in 23 games this season with the Reds in left field prior to his injury. Over his four Major League seasons he has played in 360 games with a .252 average, 35 career home runs and 107 RBI. He has been a regular in the outfield for the Reds over the past three seasons playing in exactly 120 games in both 2011 and 2012.

Former Blue Wahoo Donald Lutz was added to the Reds 25-man roster as a result of Heisey's injury. As of Monday, Lutz is hitting .316 with 1 HR and 5 RBI. He is currently on a six-game hit streak.

Manny Parra was signed over the offseason by Cincinnati. The lefty reliever began his career with the Brewers where he spent five years. Parra appeared in six games this season with the Reds before his injuring a pectoral muscle on April 23.

Both players are available and in the lineup for Monday's game against the Chattanooga Lookouts. The length of their stay in Pensacola has not been announced. Tickets remain at BlueWahoos.com and the Blue Wahoos box office at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
