Inland Empire 66ers News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- With five wins in six games, this road trip the Inland Empire 66ers (19-14) wrapped Thursday with a 10-5 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (17-17) was one of the best of the season for any team in the California League. The victory also keeps the 66ers atop the league's Southern Division.

For the second straight game the 66ers gave up an early lead and for the second straight time they bounced right back for a win. Thursday they truly gave up the lead, committing four errors within the first three batters of the game for the Quakes, eventually trailing by as many as four. Danny Reynolds was the starter who allowed five runs in the first two innings, but he'd pitch the next five without allowing a hit. That performance kept the team in the game and eventually earned him the win.

The offense finally perked up in the 6th when Brian Hernandez closed the gap to two runs with a two RBI home run to left field, and Ryan Jones made it a one run game with a solo homer in the 8th . That same 8th inning saw Alex Yarbrough put the team in front for good with a two run triple off the right field wall.

With three runs of insurance in the 9th including two run home run from Zach Wright the game belonged to the 66ers as did the road series which Inland Empire took two games to one.

The 66ers return home Friday, May 10th for a Toyota and Scion of Redlands 50 cent Friday and a Halo Hat giveaway presented by Frozen Ropes, as they take on the Visalia Rawhide.
