New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, announced a new leadership team today. Longtime Rock Cats executive Bill Dowling and Advantage Food and Beverage President Tim Restall will take over the day-to-day operation of the ball club, assuming control from outgoing President and General Manager John Willi, who will continue as a consultant to the organization.
"We have made great strides since purchasing the team last March", said Rock Cats co-owner Josh Solomon, "and we know that Bill and Tim will be great assets as we continue to grow. We want to thank John for his commitment and passion for the Rock Cats over the years".
Dowling returns to the New Britain front office after spending the last year in an advisory capacity to the new ownership group which purchased the franchise in March of 2012. A former New York Yankees executive, Dowling led the club for twelve years, serving as the team's President and CEO at the time of the purchase by Solomon and his siblings, Jim and Jennifer.
Restall brings fifteen years of executive experience in Minor League Baseball to his new role as General Manager. He is currently the president of Advantage Food and Beverage, a food service provider for minor league teams. Prior to that appointment, he spent ten years directing the concessions operations of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats as well as a two-year stint as the team's vice president of business operations.
