Rock Cats Lose to Harrisburg 6-1 in Front of 7,859 at New Britain Stadium

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats lost to the Harrisburg Senators 6-1 in front of a capacity crowd, 7,859, at New Britain Stadium on Thursday afternoon. Nathan Karns pitched well into the 7 th inning allowing just one run on three hits and earned his second win of the season. The Senators scored four runs in the 5th innings and took advantage of two New Britain errors during the same inning. New Britain starter B.J. Hermsen was tagged with the loss. The Rock Cats won 4 of the 7 games on the homestand.

The Rock Cats took a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Danny Santana in the 3rd inning scoring Danny Lehmann who walked. New Britain had the 1-0 edge until the Senators batted in the 5 th .

Harrisburg tied the game in the 5 th on an RBI single by Kris Watts. After Hermsen walked Jose Lozada he retired the next two batters. Brian Goodwin then hit a groundball to second base which James Beresford failed to field allowing the bases to fill. Josh Johnson then followed with a 2-run single putting the Senators in front for good. Jared Head added a fourth run on a bullet line drive to the shortstop Danny Santana which fell out of his glove.

The Senators scored two more runs for good measure on a an RBI double by Kris Watts in the 6th off Bobby Lanigan and a solo home run by Jared Head in the 8 th off A.J. Achter.

The Rock Cats begin a 6-game road trip tomorrow night at 6:00 in Portland, Maine. Pat Dean will start for the Rock Cats.
