LAST GAME: The Erie SeaWolves tagged B-Mets starter Rafael Montero for ten runs on ten hits and handed the Binghamton Mets an 11-4 loss last night at NYSEG Stadium. Montero tossed three shutout frames before the SeaWolves plated five runs on five hits in the fourth. Tyler Collins added a solo homer in the fifth and Erie tacked on four more scores in the seventh. Victor Larez handled the B-Mets for seven innings, allowing three runs en route to his fourth win of the season. Francisco Pena doubled twice and drove in two runs in the losing effort.

BINGHAMTON STARTING PITCHER: RHP Logan Verrett makes his sixth start of the season and first against Erie. The righty from Texas comes off his strongest performance of the season. He allowed just two runs on two hits and struck out eight over a season-long eight innings against the Akron Aeros on April 27. He collected his fourth win of 2013 and is tied for the league lead in victories. Pitching at Double-A for the first time in his career, Verrett was selected by the New York Mets in the 3rd round of the 2011 draft.

ERIE STARTING PITCHER: LHP Kyle Lobstein gets the ball for the sixth time this season and second against the B-Mets. The southpaw also is fresh off an eight-inning performance. He surrendered one run on seven hits and struck eight Altoona Curve hitters in a victory on April 27. Lobstein took a no-decision against the B-Mets on April 9 at Jerry Uht Park. He allowed one run on five hits over 5.2 innings in a game the SeaWolves won 2-1. Lobstein was acquired by the Detroit Tigers in the Rule 5 Draft from the Tampa Bay Rays in December. The Tigers sent Curt Casali to the Rays to keep Lobstein in their Minor League system.

PENA'S STRONG GAME: B-Mets catcher Francisco Pena went 3-for-4 last night with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. It was his first three-hit game as a Binghamton Met. He has three doubles in this series and five overall in 2013. Pena collected seven doubles in 40 games with Binghamton last season.

SNAPPING OUT OF IT: B-Mets outfielder Alonzo Harris ended an 0-for-15 slump with a solo home run off Victor Larez in the seventh inning last night. Harris had gone hitless in three straight games before his 1-for-4 effort last night. He struck out six times during the skid. The home run was his third of the year. They have all been solo shots.

FORSYTHE RAKING: Blake Forsythe continued his hot start to the season with another two-hit game last night, his fifth multiple-hit game in 2013. Forsythe has gone 7-for-20 during the homestand and hit safely in 11 of his 14 game this season. Ten of his 17 hits have gone for extra-bases.

SERIES VICTORY: A win tonight by the B-Mets would secure their third series victory of the season. Their two previous series victories were both four-game series. Binghamton has dropped their last two series.

PLENTY OF SUPPORT: In his five previous starts, Logan Verrett has received an average of 7.4 runs per game. Binghamton has scored seven runs or more four times behind him, including a 15-run performance against the Fisher Cats on April 21.

ON THE LEADERBOARD: B-Mets starter Logan Verrett shares the league lead with Portland's Brandon Workman and Erie's Victor Larez with four wins. He also ranks eighth with a 2.48 ERA and fifth with a 0.98 WHIP.

TAKING CENTER STAGE: Tonight's B-Mets-SeaWolves game is the only night game scheduled in the Eastern League. The other ten teams all had games starting this morning.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets hit the road for a two-city trip. They start a three-game series against the Harrisburg Senators tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. RHP Jacob deGrom goes for Binghamton against RHP Blake Treinen.
