Owen Sound Attack News Release
The hockey season isn't over quite yet for two Owen Sound Attack teammates as Zach Nastasiuk and Chris Bigras have been added to Canada's Under 18 Team for the World U-18 Hockey Championship that is being held in Sochi, Russia.
Bigras and Nastasiuk were notified of the news shortly following the Attack's loss to the Whalers on Sunday afternoon and will depart immediately.
Canada's Under 18 Team is made up 1995 and 1996 born players (plus 1997 born Connor McDavid) whose CHL clubs have been eliminated from the post season.
Bigras and Nastasiuk are both draft eligible and have seen their stock rise over the course of the season and participated in the 2013 CHL/NHL Home Hardware Top Prospects Game.
Nastasiuk lead the Attack in playoff scoring, tallying 4 goals and 7 assists, while Bigras finished the regular season with an impressive 38 points and a +35 rating.
Canada's first preliminary game is Thursday when they take on Slovakia.
Congratulations to both Zach and Chris!
