Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT - The Everett Silvertips' first-round WHL playoff series against the top-seeded Portland Winterhawks continues tonight at Comcast Arena when the puck drops in Game 6 at 7:05 pm. After keeping their season alive with an exciting 3-2 road victory in Game 5, the Silvertips are now looking to even the series at three games apiece and force a deciding Game 7 Wednesday night in Portland.

The 'Tips surprised the heavily-favored Winterhawks with a 4-3 victory at the Rose Garden to open the series, but then suffered three consecutive losses as Portland grabbed a 3-1 series lead. After two difficult losses on home ice, the Silvertips needed to rebound Saturday night in Game 5 to extend their season. Everett built a 3-0 lead through two periods in that contest before holding on in the third to earn a 3-2 victory and extend the series to a Game 6.

Now the underdog Silvertips return to their home ice looking to once again keep the series going. An Everett win tonight would force a decisive seventh game to be played Wednesday night at Portland's Memorial Coliseum, while a Winterhawks victory would end the season for the 'Tips.
