
Hitmen advance to Eastern Conference Semi-Final following Game 5 home win

Calgary, AB - Swedish import Victor Rask recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Hitmen now advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Final, against an opponent yet to be determined, after defeating the Broncos in five games.
Rookies Jake Virtanen and Elliott Peterson completed Calgary's scoring tally, each netting their first career WHL post-season goal. Cody Sylvester, Greg Chase, Peter Kosterman and Jaynen Rissling each added an assist, while Rask's multi-point effort extended his point streak to three goals and four assists over five consecutive playoff games.
Calgary Flames' prospect Coda Gordon scored the lone goal for the visitors as Chris Driedger stopped 34 of 35 shots he faced to record the win.
The Hitmen will begin the Eastern Conference Semi-Final on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5. Both playoff games are 7:00 p.m. starts at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
