Andrew Murray Assigned to Peoria

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has assigned forward Andrew Murray to the Peoria Rivermen. The team has also activated forward Alex Steen from injured reserve.

Murray, 31, has played in 38 games with Peoria this season, tallying 19 points (10 goals and 9 assists). He appeared in one game with St. Louis, Feb. 28 against Chicago, and recorded two shots on goal.

Overall, the 6-foot-2, 218-pound forward has appeared in five NHL seasons (2007-2012), totaling 40 points (24 goals, 16 assists) and 36 penalty minutes in 221 games between St. Louis, San Jose and Columbus.

The Selkirk, Manitoba native was originally drafted by Columbus in the eighth round, (242nd overall) at the 2001 NHL Draft. Murray was signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 6, 2012.
