Minnesota Acquires Conditional Seventh-Round Pick in 2014 NHL Entry Draft for Genoway

Houston, TX - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft from the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Chay Genoway (CHAY, GHEN-oh-way).

Genoway, 26 (12/28/86), has posted 19 points (4-1519) in 53 games for the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. The 5-foot-9, 177-pound native of Morden, Manitoba, skated in one game with the Wild last season - making his NHL debut on April 7, 2012, against the Phoenix Coyotes. He attended the University of North Dakota from 2007-11. Genoway spent two seasons in Houston from 2011-13. He scored 11 times and assisted on 44 others for a total of 55 points with the Aeros.

After playing 12 of their last 13 games on the road, the Aeros return home on Thursday, Mar. 14 at 7 p.m. as the team hosts Abbotsford at Toyota Center. The game marks a "Thirsty Thursday", where fans (21 and older) receive a "second drink free coupon" for The Maple Leaf Pub (Smith and Elgin). The first 500 fans to The Maple Leaf Pub after the game will be able to redeem their coupon for their second drink free.
