Rielly Named Player of the Week

The Western Hockey League has announced that Moose Jaw Warrior Morgan Rielly has been selected as the Denny's Player of the Week. Rielly recorded four goals and five points while helping Moose Jaw to a 2-1 record.

1905099758500February 12th against Prince Albert, Rielly scored two goals and was a +3 in a 4-1 win over the Prince Albert Raiders at Mosaic Place. February 15th he was held pointless in a 3-1 loss to Saskatoon but was a steady presence for the tribe. The week concluded with a Warrior 4-3 win over the Raiders in Prince Albert, Rielly scored two goals (including the game winner) and had three points.

Rielly has eleven goals and 44 points in 47 games this season, he has four goals and 16 points in the Warriors last 14 games. He is the first Warrior to receive the award this season.

The Vancouver product was selected fifth overall by Toronto in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, making him the highest drafted Warrior in franchise history. In August he took part in the four game Canada-Russia series to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series.

In November Rielly, along with Sam Fioretti, played in both games for the WHL in the Subway Super Series. In December he was named to Canada's World Junior team for the 2013 World Junior Championships in Russia, after that concluded he attended the Maple Leafs shortened training camp.
