Fogal's Shutout Seals Brahmas' 1-0 Victory

DENVER, Colorado - The Brahmas clinched the weekend series sweep of the Denver Cuthroats with a 1-0 win Saturday night behind Brad Fogal's second shutout of the season.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Brahmas grabbed a 1-0 lead at 6:18 of the second period when Tomas Klempa deflected a Daniel Spivak slapshot past Denver netminder Kieran Millan. For Klempa, the score was his 14th of the season and third of the two-game weekend series versus the Cutthroats.
The Brahmas killed off a number of penalties in the third period, denying the Cutthroats on four power plays, including a 5-on-3 advantage for 1:49, to hold on and improve to 16-4-5 in games decided by one goal.
Fogal stopped all 23 shots between the posts for the Brahmas to improve to 12-8-1 this season. Millan stopped 24 of 25 shots for Denver in a losing effort.
Winners of seven of the their last eight road games, the Brahmas continue their current five-game road trip Tuesday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 13 in Prescott Valley to take on the Arizona Sundogs. The team returns home Friday, February 15 to host the cross-town rival Allen Americans on Mascot Night at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The game is set for 7:30pm.
