Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (1/30/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced late Wednesday afternoon that forward Andrew Carroll has been loaned to Connecticut of the American Hockey League.

Carroll is the 13th player - and third today - to advance from Idaho to the American Hockey League this season. The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.

Carroll is in his first season with the Steelheads after playing the past two seasons in the AHL with the Hershey Bears. With Idaho, Carroll has 12 goals and 19 assists in 36 games, including tallies in three straight contests. He has 93 points at the ECHL level over 115 games since turning pro following his college career at Minnesota-Duluth. He has also skated in 124 games in his career at the AHL level.

Carroll, Tyler Beskorowany (Texas) and Austin Fyten (Texas) have all been raided from the Idaho roster today, bringing the total number of players to compete in Idaho this season who have now been promoted to the AHL to 13.

Idaho's next game is Friday, February 1, at Stockton. The team returns home on February 6 to host Utah.
