
Two More Steelheads Headed to AHL

Boise, ID (1/30/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Wednesday that the Idaho Steelheads have sent two more players to the American Hockey League as goaltender Tyler Beskorowany and forward Austin Fyten have each been summoned to the next level of minor-league hockey.
Beskorowany and Fyten are each headed to Texas, Idaho's AHL affiliate. Beskorowany has been re-assigned to Texas by the NHL's Dallas Stars while Fyten has signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
With today's announcement, the Steelheads have seen 12 different players advance from Idaho to the AHL - Beskorowany, Fyten, Josh Robinson, Patrick Cullity, Justin Dowling, Gord Baldwin, Hubert Labrie, Austin Smith, Jace Coyle, Mathieu Tousignant, Kael Mouillierat and Jeremie Blain. Another player, Nick Johnson, is currently with the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes after skating five games with Idaho during the NHL lockout.
Beskorowany, 22, is heading to the AHL for the second time this season after spending all of last season with Texas. Dating back to the beginning of December, Beskorowany is 9-2-2 in net with a .932 save percentage. His overall save percentage (.914) is tied with teammate Josh Robinson for the sixth-best percentage in the ECHL.
Fyten, 21, will be making his first trip to the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America. His 40 points (14 goals, 26 assists) are tops among all ECHL rookies and he was recently participated in the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game. The Sundre, Alberta, product has been on a torrid pace of late, scoring eight goals and chipping in 14 assists - 22 total points - over the team's last 14 games.
