Forward Alden Hirschfeld Reassigned to Stingrays

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Alden Hirschfeld has returned to the team from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Hirschfeld, 25, appeared in 18 games with the Bruins (AHL) scoring two goals and three assists for five points. In 16 contests with the Stingrays, the Sylvania, Ohio, native registered eight points (four goals, four assists). Currently in his first professional season, Hirschfeld attended Miami University (Ohio) for four seasons, totaling 70 points (35 goals, 35 assists) in 134 games and helped the RedHawks capture a CCHA Championship in 2010-11.

The Stingrays are back in action Friday, February 1 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, February 8 to host the Evansville IceMen for the first time in team history at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Nerd-Con featuring the Carolina Garrison! Characters from the classic move "Star Wars" will be walking the concourse.
