Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah -The Utah Grizzlies defeated the Idaho Steelheads 4-2 Wednesday night at Maverik Center.

Utah got another 36 save performance from goaltender Grant Rollheiser, who stopped 36 of 38 in the game. The Grizzlies went a season-best 9-9 on the penalty-kill and added a Riley Armstrong (11) power-play insurance goal in the third to make the score 4-2 with 6:07 remaining.

"It took everyone tonight, especially playing with only three defenseman; it was a good 60 minutes," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "I thought our three forwards playing defense as well did great. Our PK was there and it came down to quick puck movement on the power-play."

Utah took a 1-0 lead just 1:35 into the game as captain Brad Mills centered Adam Estoclet in front for his first of two goals on the night. Rollheiser stopped all 16 in the first period to hold Utah's 1-0 lead to the first intermission.

Idaho struck early in the second with two quick goals, but Utah's 2-1 deficit lasted just 1:55 before Estoclet, again in front of the net, tipped a puck home. Armstrong and Wahl picked up assists as Utah kept the puck alive in the Idaho end.

After killing two penalties, to keep the game 2-2, Tommy Maxwell came out of the box and gave Utah the lead for good with his first goal of the season. Maxwell went straight towards the net and ripped home a shot from the circle.

Utah's co-captains in Mills (two assists) and Armstrong (one goal, one assist) along with assistant captain Mitch Wahl (two assists) all had multiple-point nights.

The Grizzlies return home Friday to host Las Vegas at 7:05 p.m. to continue their promotion filled eight-game home stand.
