Spirit Take on Spits Winning at Home

Both Western Conference teams came out strong in the opening period, however the Spirit were able to put one in first on a power play by Jimmy Lodge, his 10th of the season, with assists coming from Chicago Blackhawks prospect, Garret Ross and Eric Locke. The Spirit followed up with another goal, this time from Eric Locke, his 19th of the season, assisted by Buffalo Sabres prospect, Justin Kea and Andrey Alexeev. The Spitfires fired back with a goal from Adam Bateman, his 2nd of the season, assisted by Zach Lorentz and Emerson Clark. Then Spirit Captain and Florida Panthers prospect, Vince Trocheck scored his 23rd goal of the season, with assists coming from Jimmy Lodge and Dalton Young. The first period ended Saginaw 3 - Windsor 1.

The second opened up with a Spirit goal by Justin Kea, his 11th of the season, with assists coming from Andrey Alexeev and Vince Trocheck. The Spirit scored a goal with a two man advantage on the ice, that came off Garret Ross's stick, his 16th goal of the season, assisted by Dalton Young and Vince Trocheck. The Spitfires followed up with a goal from Emerson Clark, his 3rd of the season, assisted by Zach Lorentz and Josh Ho-Sang. The second period ended Saginaw 5 - Windsor 2.

Both the Spirit and the Spitfires came out with a solid effort in the third. However, the Spitfires were the first to score in the period on the power play, from Josh Ho-Sang, his 7th of the season, assisted by New Jersey Devils prospect, Ben Johnson and Chris Marchese. The Spirit scored an unassisted, short-handed goal by Vince Trocheck, his 24th of the season to complete the scoring. The game ended Saginaw 6 - Windsor 3, with shots on goal Saginaw 45 - Windsor 41.
