Crisp's Hat Trick Leads Otters to 4-2 Win

St. Catharines, Ont. - Connor Crisp scored his first OHL hat trick to the lead the Erie Otters to their first win in St. Catharines in three years, as they defeated the Niagara IceDogs, 4-2, Thursday night.
Shayne Rover put the IceDogs on the board first as he blasted a shot from the left point through a screen at 11:27.
Crisp tied the game for the Otters at 12:45 as he led a two-on-one with J.P. Labardo and put in his own rebound for his 10th goal of the season. The Otters and IceDogs each had 12 shots in the first period.
The Otters took the lead 13 seconds in the second period after Crisp deflected an Artem Kuleshov shot for his second goal of the game.
Dane Fox scored his long-awaited first goal of the season at 12:46 as he converted a two-on-one with Labardo, putting home the puck through the glove of Chris Festarini.
Mitchell Theoret put the IceDogs within a goal at the 17:12 mark of the second as he deflected a shot from Luke Mercer to make it a 3-2 game.
Crisp completed the hat trick with 4:21 to play as he redirected a pass from Dane Fox during an Otters power play to seal the Otters' first win in St. Catharines since Dec. 31, 2009.
Devin Williams had an outstanding game for the Otters as he made 47 saves to earn his first victory of the season.

The Otters hit the road to take on the Kitchener Rangers night at 7:30 p.m. The game will be tape delayed on Fox Sports Radio AM 1330 following the conclusion of Cathedral Prep's state championship game against Archbishop Wood.
