(Sarnia, ON) Ryan Verbeek scored in the seventh round of a shootout, as the Spitfires beat the Sting 3-2 on Friday night at the RBC Centre. Jordan DeKort made 38 saves in goal for Windsor (13-12-1-5) to earn his first career Ontario Hockey League win. Josh Ho-Sang and Ben Johnson each scored their sixth goals of the season. Ho-Sang's gave the Spits a 1-0 lead at 10:24 of the first period, while Johnson's power play marker tied the game at 2-2 at the 12:17 mark of the third period. Nikolay Goldobin (12) and Davis Brown (2) had goals in between for Sarnia (17-11-0-3).

Zach Lorentz, Chris Marchese and Verbeek had the shootout goals for the Spits, while Alex Galchenyuk and Reid Boucher replied for the Sting. JP Anderson made 36 saves in a losing cause. A win would have made him the winningest goalie in OHL history but, instead, he remains stuck at 114 career victories. Saverio Posa played his 200th career regular season OHL game. The Spits are back at it on Sunday afternoon (2:05), as they host the Oshawa Generals at the WFCU Centre.
