Red Deer Rebels News Release
The RHYSE DIENO Show made an exclusive engagement in Regina Wednesday night with chances being local fans not wanting an encore. Dieno went on a terror with two goals and two assists to give the Rebels a 5-1 win over the Regina Pats to extend Red Deer's consecutive winning streak to eight games.
FIRST PERIOD
The Rebels came out with a strong effort and scored the game's first goal just a little over four minutes in. TYSON NESS scored his ninth of the season with an assist from Dieno. Regina scored their only goal of the game four minutes later when Adam Rossingol popped one.
The Rebels were all over the Rebels, outshooting the Pats. Throughout three periods, Red Deer outshot the Pats (get the calculator out, folks) 49-20.
SECOND PERIOD
The Rebels didn't show any signs of slowing down in the middle frame. Dieno scored his first goal of the game a little over halfway through the period to make it 2-1. The Rebels extended their lead to 3-1 thanks to Joel Hamilton's power play goal with five minutes left. MATT DUMBA and Dieno assisted on Hamilton's marker.
THIRD PERIOD
Red Deer kept their foot on the gas, not giving the Pats much hope to generate anything. Dieno gave the Rebels a three-goal lead almost eight minutes in from his linemate Elson. FILIP VASKO rounded out the scoring with 31 seconds left in the game.
