FC Dallas to Send Record Number of Youth Teams to Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIV

FRISCO, Texas (Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012) - Four FC Dallas affiliated teams finished atop their division at the second annual Bobby Rhine Invitational presented by MoneyGram, held this past weekend at the FC Dallas Stadium complex.
Per their finish, those teams are now qualified to compete alongside nine additional FC Dallas squads in Dr Pepper Dallas Cup XXXIV. Prior to this season, the most teams FC Dallas had ever qualified for Dallas Cup was six.
"I am very proud of our players and coaching staff for more than doubling FC Dallas' presence at Dr Pepper Dallas Cup," said FC Dallas Vice President of FC Dallas Youth Chris Hayden. "I am also very appreciative of the Dallas Cup staff for allowing the Bobby Rhine Invitational to be a qualifier for Dallas Cup XXXIV. The Dallas Cup has a tradition of excellence. We are proud to partner with them in honoring the legacy of Bobby Rhine. FC Dallas will continue to support the Dallas Cup in every way possible so that it can remain one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the world."
In addition to the automatic U-18 and U-16 berths FC Dallas receives in Dallas Cup XXXIV per its participation in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, four teams qualified by winning their respective divisions in the Dallas Classic League. Three more FC Dallas teams qualified by taking first place in the Dallas Texans Fall Festival, held earlier this month.

About the Bobby Rhine Invitational presented by MoneyGram
Tripling in size in just one year, the second annual Bobby Rhine Invitational presented by MoneyGram saw more than 60 teams compete at the FC Dallas Stadium complex. Named for former FC Dallas great Bobby Rhine, who spent his entire 10-year MLS career as a player for Dallas before moving to the broadcast booth, the Bobby Rhine Invitational presented by MoneyGram ran from Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25.
