INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), announced Tuesday Mavericks' goaltender Mathieu Corbeil has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 25, 2012. In recognition of his achievement, Corbeil will receive a special gift from Oakley.

The Montreal native has won back-to-back starts stopping 50 of 52 shots (.962 save percentage). Corbeil held both the Fort Worth Brahmas and the Bloomington Blaze to only one goal each (4-1, 6-1 respectively) and for the season has lowered his goals against average to 2.89.

Assigned to the Mavericks from the Chicago Wolves (the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks), Corbeil had a chance before last week's games to work with the Canucks goaltending advisor, Dan Cloutier.

This is Corbeil's first professional season after four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last season with the Saint John Sea Dogs, Corbeil posted an outstanding 37-10-1.
