Missouri's Mathieu Corbeil Named Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (November 27, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Missouri Mavericks goaltender Mathieu Corbeil has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending November 25, 2012.

The Montreal native has won back-to-back starts stopping 50 of 52 shots (.962 save percentage). Corbeil held both the Fort Worth Brahmas and the Bloomington Blaze to only one goal each (4-1, 6-1 respectively) and for the season has lowered his goals against average to 2.89.

CHL Goaltending Leaders

Assigned to the Mavericks from the Chicago Wolves (the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks), Corbeil had a chance before last week's games to work with the Canucks goaltending coach, Dan Cloutier.

This is Corbeil's first professional season after four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last season with the Saint John Sea Dogs, Corbeil posted an outstanding 37-10-1.
