Windsor Spitfires News Release
(Owen Sound, ON) Cameron Brace's penalty shot goal in the third period was all the scoring, as the Attack beat the Spitfires 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Bayshore Arena.
During a goalmouth scramble near the six-minute mark, an official ruled a Spitfires player closed his hand on the puck in the crease behind Jordan DeKort (24 saves). Brace made no mistake on the ensuing penalty shot, burying his seventh goal of the season low to the blocker side.
Jordan Binnington made 26 saves in goal for Owen Sound (16-4-1-2) for his second straight shutout.
The Spitfires had plenty of chances to beat Binnington, but went 0-for-7 on the power play.
The loss wrapped up a weekend in which Windsor (9-9-1-4) won once and lost twice, taking three of a possible six points.
The Spits are off Monday and will return to practice Tuesday, before taking on the Whalers in Plymouth on Wednesday night at 7:05.
