Royals Host Silvertips and Pats this Weekend

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals will host the Everett Silvertips and Regina Pats at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for a pair of weekend contests this Friday, November 16th and Saturday, November 17th, respectively. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings.

The Royals return home for this first time since October 23rd following a seven-game road swing. Now holding a 10-10-0-0 record and sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference, Victoria will face two teams this weekend that they have yet to play this season. On Friday, the Everett Silvertips (7-13-0-2) visit the island on the heels of a win over the Tri-City Americans. Saturday will see the Regina Pats (9-12-1-0) make their first ever appearance at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

The Royals have partnered with Victory Barber and Brand to support men's health and awareness and the Movember Campaign. Fans are encouraged to visit the Royals Season Ticket Holder information booth at Royals Court to cast their vote for their favourite "Mo Bro" moustache on the team. Donations are also being accepted and one lucky ballot will be drawn at the game on November 27th for a $250 gift basket from Victory Barber and Brand.

Friday, November 16th

Friday night is Mainroad Winter Driving Awareness Night as presented by Mainroad, Fountain Tire, ICBC, BCAA and Fortis. Mainroad will be in the concourse with Winter Driving Tips and information and will be handing out rock salt samples upon exit. Fortis will also be in the concourse on Friday night where fans can spin their prize wheel to win and pick up a water bottle courtesy of Fortis. Pre-game festivities will include a ceremony raising awareness for World Diabetes Day in conjunction with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

During the first intermission, Tim Bits Minor Hockey will feature players from Peninsula Minor Hockey Association. Then, one lucky fan will win a $500 credit towards service or tires provided by Fountain Tire as well as a $150 gift card to The Keg Steakhouse and Bar courtesy of Mainroad during the Mainroad Winter Driving Trike Race in the second intermission!

During the game, fans will be able to purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. Prizes for the evening's Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village, a Family 4-Pack to the Royal BC Museum and a Samsung 43" Plasma TV courtesy of Mainroad! Proceeds from the evening's End of the Roll 50/50 and Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck will benefit the Juan de Fuca Minor Hockey Association.

Saturday, November 17th

Saturday is a celebration for everyone's favourite mascot, it's Marty's Birthday! Join Marty as he celebrates along with mascot friends from the Victoria Grizzlies Hockey Club, Victoria Highlanders FC, Sports Traders, Panorama Recreation Centre, Pharmasave Broadmead, Harbour Air, Saanich Police Department, Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, Island Farms and the Salvation Army!

Fans are encouraged to come early on Saturday night to sign Marty's Birthday Card! The first 500 fans to sign Marty's card will receive a birthday gift bag! There will also be birthday cake on Marty's big day courtesy Save-On-Foods. Birthday cake will be available at Gate 1 following the game on a first-come, first-served basis. Prior to puck drop, BFI Canada will be on hand at Gate 1 collecting donations of non-perishable food items as a part of the Royals' Stop Hunger Campaign in support of the Mustard Seed Food Bank. Each donor will receive a $3 discount coupon to a future Royals game courtesy BFI Canada!

The first intermission will see players from Cowichan Valley Minor Hockey Association participate in Tim Bits Minor Hockey while the second intermission will feature the Mascot Madness Relay featuring Marty and his mascot friends.

Throughout the game, fans can purchase tickets for the End of the Roll 50/50 draw and foam pucks for the Old House Village Chuck-A-Puck. Prizes for the evening's Chuck-A-Puck will include a one-night stay and spa treatment for two courtesy of Old House Village and a Family 4-Pack to the Royal BC Museum. This weekend will also mark the return of the Royals Holiday Combo! For $60, fans are able to purchase a Holiday Combo that includes four anytime ticket vouchers as well as a pair of black "touch-screen" gloves! The vouchers are redeemable for any Royals' home game between now and March 16th in the corner and end sections of Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
