Red Claws Acquire Two 2012 Draft Picks from Bakersfield

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws today announced that they have acquired a third and fourth round selection in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft from the Bakersfield Jam in exchange for their third round pick in 2013. The 2012 NBA Development League Draft is scheduled for this Friday, November 2, at 7 PM.
The two draft picks will now give the Red Claws a total of eight selections in the 2012 draft, including a pair in the fourth round. The Red Claws had previously traded their 2012 second and third round selections to the Texas Legends last season in exchange for Jerome Randle and 2012 NBADL All-Star Lawrence Hill. The Red Claws will select fourth in the upcoming draft.
Each of the NBA D-League's 16 teams will be given one pick in each of eight rounds. No trades will be permitted during the draft, and only players signed to an NBA Development League Standard Player Contract are eligible to be selected. NBA Development League teams may invite up to 17 players, including draft selections, returning players and Affiliate players, to training camp. The Red Claws will open training camp on November 11 at the Portland Exposition Building.
