EIGHT PLAYERS ADDED TO ARMOR TRAINING CAMP ROSTER

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Armor today announced eight players set to attend the team's 2012 training camp in November. Among the eight are two players who will be joining the Armor as Affiliate

Players, forward Carleton Scott and forward James Mays. NBA D-League teams are permitted to protect up to three players waived from their NBA parent club's training camp roster. Center Chas McFarland, forward/center Jamar Brown and guard/forward Jonathan Thomas will be returning to the Armor this season and guard Reginald Delk, guard Louie McCroskey and guard DeAndre Taylor earned training camp invites through the Armor's open tryouts.

Carleton Scott: Scott (6-8, 218, Notre Dame) joins the Armor as an Affiliate Player, having attended the Brooklyn Nets 2012 training camp. Scott totaled nine points and 10 rebounds with three blocks in 51 minutes over three preseason contests with the Nets. He was also a member of the Nets entry in the Orlando Summer League, averaging 8.0 ppg and 5.4 rpg. Scott, 24, spent the 2011-12 season with the UBC Magnofit Gussing Knights of Austria's A Bundesliga, where he averaged 13.6 ppg and 6.6 rpg.

James Mays: Mays (6-8, 230, Clemson) joins the Armor as an affiliate player, having attended the Brooklyn Nets 2012 training camp. Mays tallied six points and four rebounds over 24 minutes in two preseason games with the Nets. Mays was the second overall selection in the 2008 NBA D-League Draft by the Colorado 14ers and played under current Armor head coach Bob MacKinnon during the 2008-09 season. He appeared in 12 games, averaging 18.7 ppg and 8.7 rpg before suffering a season-ending injury. Mays, 26, has also played professionally for the Shougang Beijing Ducks (China), Oyak Renault Bursa (Turkey), Mersin Buyuksehir Beldiyesi (Turkey) and Captanes de Arecibo (Puerto Rico).

Chas McFarland: McFarland (7-0, 245, Wake Forest) rejoins the Armor after spending the 2011-12 season overseas. McFarland appeared in 26 games (21 starts) with the Armor during the 2010-11 season after being acquired from the NBA D-League's available player pool, averaging 10.5 ppg and 5.8 rpg. McFarland, 26, spent last season with the Yokohama B-Corsairs of the Japan-BJ League and recently returned stateside after a stint with Bohemios of the Uruguay-LUB.

Jonathan Thomas: Thomas (6-6, 210, Marshall) was the Armor's second round selection (21st overall) in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft. Thomas, 25, appeared in nine games (six starts), averaging 9.2 ppg and 3.7 rpg before suffering a season-ending foot injury.

Jamar Brown: Brown (6-10, 240, Colorado State-Pueblo) rejoins the Armor for the upcoming season. Brown was originally acquired in the sixth round (12th overall) in the 2009 NBA D-League Expansion Draft that was conducted when the Armor and Maine Red Claws joined the league. Brown appeared in 39 games (17 starts) during the 2011-12 season, averaging 5.6. ppg and 5.4 rpg. In 117 NBA D-League games, Brown, 32, holds career averages of 5.4 ppg and 4.4 rpg over three seasons with the Armor and Colorado 14ers.

Reginald Delk: Delk (6-4, 200, Louisville) earned an invite to the Armor's 2012 training camp following the team's open tryout in New Jersey in September. Delk spent the 2011-12 season with Vaerlose BBK in the Denmark-Ligaen, averaging 18.1 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 4.6 apg. He previously played for the Kentucky Bluegrass Stallions of the Premier Basketball League (PBL) during the 2010-11 season, appearing in 16 games and averaging 10.9 ppg. Delk, 25, is the nephew of former NBA guard, Tony Delk.

Louie McCroskey: McCroskey (6-6, 210, Marist) earned an invite to the Armor's 2012 training camp following the team's open tryout in Springfield in October. McCroskey has spent time in the International Basketball League (IBL) and the National Basketball League (NBL) of Canada. McCroskey, 27, began his collegiate career at Syracuse in 2003-04, playing under Hall of Fame head coach Jim Boeheim for three years before finishing his collegiate career at Marist.

DeAndre Taylor: Taylor (6-4, 190, Northern Michigan) earned an invite to the Armor's 2012 training camp following the team's open tryout in New Jersey in September. Taylor, 23, spent three years at Northern Michigan (NCAA Division II), appearing in 26 games as a senior last season and averaging 14.1 ppg.

The Armor will continue to build their roster on Friday evening when the NBA D-League holds its annual draft. The Armor hold nine picks in the eight-round draft and will be selecting 14th (out of 16 teams) in each round. The Armor also hold the 13th selection in the second round by way of a trade last season with the Santa Cruz Warriors. Armor training camp is scheduled to start November 12 in advance of the team's first game on November 24 at Canton.
