SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors have acquired NBA D-League veteran Chris Daniels from the Erie BayHawks in exchange for the 37th overall pick in the 2012 NBA D-League draft.

Daniels, 28, was a member of the 2012 NBA D-League Showcase Second Team and a member of the 2012 NBA D-League Select Team, which competed in the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The 7'0" center averaged 16.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 14 games with the Erie BayHawks last season. Daniels, who was selected 9th overall by the Erie BayHawks in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft, won two championships during four seasons in South Korea. Daniels played college basketball for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and was named the 2007 Southland Conference Player of the Year.

"Chris Daniels is a dominating presence on the court and fills a critical role," said Santa Cruz Warriors Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren. "His height and skill level are impressive and we are eager to integrate him into our system and style of play."

The draft pick the Warriors traded to Erie was acquired from the Reno Bighorns on October 31, 2011.
