
Bulldogs Beat the Heat 2-1

Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Abbotsford Heat 2-1 at Copps Coliseum on Sunday night. Blake Geoffrion had a goal and an assist, Aaron Palushaj scored the game-winner and Robert Mayer made 28 saves for the victory.
After 20 minutes, the game was scoreless and the Bulldogs led the Heat in shots 12-11.
The Heat opened the scoring on a goal by Roman Horak at 3:36 of the second frame. Max Reinhart put the puck on net which was stopped by Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Robert Mayer and the rebound came out to Horak in the slot who roofed the puck past a sprawling Mayer.
The Bulldogs tied the score at 6:25 of the second stanza on a goal by Blake Geoffrion. Greg Pateryn kept the puck in at the right point and dished a pass to Geoffrion in the slot who wired a shot over the shoulder of Abbotsford Heat starting goaltender Danny Taylor. With the assist on the play, Pateryn recorded his first professional point. Hamilton took the lead at 10:38 of the second period on a powerplay marker by Aaron Palushaj. Geoffrion feathered a pass from the right boards to Palushaj in the slot who tipped the puck past Taylor along the ice.
At the end of the game, the Bulldogs edged the Heat in shots 30-29.
The 'Dogs next game is on the road on Friday, November 2nd against the Rochester Americans at 7:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena. The game will be broadcast live on TVA Sports.
