
Heat Edged 2-1 by Hamilton in Road Trip Finale

HAMILTON, ON - The Abbotsford Heat suffered their first regulation loss of the season on Sunday, falling 2-1 to the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens). The Heat entered the game as the only AHL team without a regulation loss through six games. Despite the loss, the Heat earned three of a possible six points on their first road trip of the season.
After a scoreless first period, Roman Horak opened the scoring at 3:36 of the second period. Max Reinhart and Akim Aliu assisted on Horak's AHL leading seventh goal of the season. Following Horak's goal, the Bulldogs scored twice to take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
The Bulldogs' scored the first power play goal against the Heat this season. The goal proved to be the game winner after a scoreless third period.
Danny Taylor made his fifth start of the season and stopped 28 of 30 shots in the loss. The Heat were outshot 30-29.
The Heat failed to score on three power play opportunities and killed two of three Hamilton power plays.
The Heat are now fourth in the AHL Western Conference with ten points through seven games.
