
Hamilton Scores Twice in 5-2 Loss to Reign

North Charleston, S.C. -The South Carolina Stingrays (2-2-0-0) fell to the Ontario Reign (4-2-0-0) 5-2 on Kid's Day at the North Charleston Coliseum Sunday afternoon.
Reign defenseman Chris Huxley started the scoring at 9:44 of the opening period tapping a pass from forward Mario Lamoureux past the glove of Stingrays goaltender Adam Morrison (L, 33 saves on 38 shots). Forward Brady Calla earned the second assist. The Stingrays tied the contest on the power play at 15:34 when forward Mike Hamilton beat Reign netminder Jean -Francois Berube (W, 15 saves on 17 shots) between the legs from the bottom of the right-wing circle. Forward Tyler McNeely and defenseman Luka Vidmar grabbed assists. Ontario made it 2-1 moments later with a tally from Lamoureux at 17:44 with help from defenseman Matthew Clune and forward Everett Sheen .
Forward Colton Yellow Horn gave the Reign a two-goal lead at 4:06 of the second period from forwards C.J. Stretch and defenseman Paul Mara . At 7:57, Calla pushed the score to 4-1. Defenseman Jordan Hill and forward Everett Sheen registered assists. Hamilton netted his second goal of the afternoon for South Carolina at 10:52 blasting a rebound off a Hunter Bishop shot past the right pad of Berube. Yellow Horn reclaimed a three-goal lead for the Reign with his third tally of the season at 19:12.
The Stingrays finished the afternoon 1-for-3 on the power play while the Reign went 0-for-4.
The Stingrays open a three-game road trip on Wednesday, October 24 against the Florida Everblades at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena in Estero, FL and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Tuesday, October 30 to battle the Orlando Solar Bears at 7:05 p.m. on 2-for-1 Tickets night.
