Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, 2011-12 Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, have agreed to terms with three players, Matt Clune (D), Alex Hudson (F), and Campbell Elynuik (LW).

Clune, 23, made his professional debut late last year with the Stockton Thunder in a game against the Ontario Reign. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defenseman will join former College of the Holy Cross teammates Everett Sheen and Brodie Sheahan in Ontario this season.

The Toronto, Ontario native spent four seasons with Holy Cross playing in 140 games, the seventh most in the program's history, recording 53 points (14g, 39a) and 186 penalty minutes. In 2011-12, his senior year, he posted a career-high 20 points (4g, 16a) earning him the second spot for scoring among defensemen.

Clune played with the St. Michael's Buzzers of the OPJHL in the 2004-05 and 2006-07 seasons. He recorded 44 games and 11 points, all assists, with the club.

Hudson, 25, made his professional debut last season with the Bakersfield Condors where he appeared in 20 games. During his time with the Condors he was called up to the AHL to play with the Manchester Monarchs for 15 games.

A native of Corona, CA, Hudson is the third local product to sign with the Reign this season. Prior to playing professionally, the 6-foot, 209-pound forward played for the University of Nebraska-Omaha for a total of 130 contests. In that time he earned 82 points (37g, 45a) and 141 penalty minutes.

Elynuik, 19, will bring some size to the Reign's left wing in his professional debut. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Silver Spring, MD native comes to Ontario after a four-year career at the major junior level playing with the Everett Silvertips, Regina Pats, and Prince George Cougars. He appeared in 136 games recording 22 points (9g, 13a) and 291 penalty minutes.
