Attack on Road to Barrie and GuelphSeptember 27, 2012 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Owen Sound Attack Press Release
Former Attack star and captain, Bobby Ryan will be on hand Saturday evening to drop the puck for the ceremonial faceoff. Ryan played four season for the Attack from 2003-2007 and was Captain of the Attack for his last two seasons. Ryan was drafted 2nd overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2005 and left Owen Sound as the franchise's all time scoring leader.
September 27th - Attack @ Barrie : The Attack will put their 2-0 record on the line against the 1-2 Barrie Colts. Barrie won their season opener against the Ottawa 67's but were held without a point in their next two contests against the Kingston Frontenacs and Mississauga Steelheads. Barrie returns Import goaltender Mathias Niederberger and he will carry the bulk of the load for the Colts this season.
Look Out For: The Barrie Colts have a tonne of firepower and despite their 1-2 record, they lead Eastern Conference in Goals For. Winnipeg Jets 2011 First Rounder Mark Scheifele is the main cog in the wheel for the Colts. The veteran forward is currently tied for the Colts lead in scoring with 5 points through the first 3 games.
September 28th - Attack in Guelph: The Attack make their first trip of the season to the Sleeman centre to take on divisional rival Guelph on Friday evening. If the Attack are to contend at the top of the conference this season, their eight meetings against Guelph will go a long way in determining whether or not that happens.
Watch Out For: Defenseman Matt Finn slipped to the 2nd Round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft before being taken by Toronto, but that does not make him any less dangerous on the ice. The veteran dman has put up 4 point in 3 games for the Storm and is their offensive catalyst from the back end.
Both games can be heard live on Terry's Trailer Service/Kia of Owen Sound Bear Radio with Fred Wallace. Both games are also live on Rogers TV local channel 53. Game time Thursday and Friday is 7:30pm.
