Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that overage defenseman Keevin Cutting has been named Captain of the Owen Sound Attack for the 2012/2013 season. Cutting, who is in his fifth season with the Attack is the 19th Captain in Owen Sound franchise history and replaces former Captain Michael Halmo who was an overage player during the 2011/2012 campaign.
The Bracebridge native is currently first on the Owen Sound franchise list of games played by a defenseman with 259 (Chris Wismer - 229) and sits tied for third amongst all skaters with Wes Goldie. Former Plater Willie Skilliter (264) is second while former Attack Captain Marcus Carroll sits first with 312.
The Attack also announced two Assistant Captains for the 2012/2013 season. Veteran forward Cameron Brace and newly acquired overage defenseman Nathan Chiarlitti have been names Assistants.
Brace is entering his third full season with the Attack after having a breakout season in 2011/2012. The Markham native tallied 29 goals in 68 games, including 4 more goals in 5 playoff games against the Kitchener Rangers.
Nathan Chiarlitti comes to the Attack after spending his first four years with the Sarnia Sting and serving as their Captain for the 2011/2012 season. A veteran of 245 Ontario Hockey League games, the Maple, ON. native has been a welcome addition to the Attack's back end.
The Attack opens their season on Thursday night in Windsor. All action can be seen live on Rogers TV local channel 53 or heard live on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio with Fred Wallace on 560 CFOS.
Game time at the WFCU Centre on Thursday is 7:05pm.
