
RoughRiders Sweep Double-Header

FRISCO, TX- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but the late rally fell short and they dropped game two of the double-header 3-1 on Sunday night.
The RoughRiders also got on the board first in the second game of the double-header. Alex Buchholz belted his seventh home run of the season, to make it 1-0.
Leury Garcia led off the bottom of the fourth inning with his tenth triple of the season. Jurickson Profar followed with a sacrifice fly to make it a 2-0 lead. Justin Marks (3-5) went four and a third innings for the Naturals allowing four hits and three runs while walking one and striking out three. The start was just the second for Marks since returning from the disabled list.
Jared Prince tacked on another run for the Roughriders in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a 3-0 game. Tim Murphy (4-8) picked up the win working two innings allowing four hits and no runs in relief.
The Naturals got a triple from Whit Merrifield and back-to-back walks by Paulo Orlando and Manny Pina to load the bases. Mario Lisson followed with a walk to drive in Merrifield to make it a 3-1 contest. Richard Bleier got Carlo Testa to ground out to end the game and earn his first save of the season.
The two teams will wrap-up their three-game sereies on Monday night at 7:05 PM. Left-hander Mike Montgomery (2-3, 5.71) will start game two against the RoughRiders right-hander Wilfredo Boscan (5-5, 5.00). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
