Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

Williamsport only mustered two base hits in a 4-0 loss to the Jamestown Jammers Friday night.

The only hits both came from Chris Serritella. His first was an infield single in the second inning. His second hit was a seeing-eye single in the ninth.

The non-existent offense overshadowed strong pitching performances from Cutters starter Joshua Warner and reliever Jon Musser.

Warner struck out five batters in six innings and allowed just three runs, all in the fifth inning.

With a runner at second and two outs, Warner hit Yefri Perez in the helmet and it sparked the Jammers offense. Michael Main and Cody Keefer hit back-to-back run scoring singles to give Jamestown a 3-0 lead.

Musser was impressive in the seventh, striking out the side on nine pitches.

Strong situational hitting put the Jammers up 4-0 in the eighth inning. After Main doubled to lead off the inning, Keefer bunted him over and Jesus Solorzano hit a sac fly to center field.

Jamestown added a final run in the ninth to hand Williamsport their fourth straight loss.

The Crosscutters drop to 19-37 and remain in sixth place in the Pinckney Division.

Williamsport tries to snap the losing streak Saturday at 7:05 against the Jammers. Every Cutters game can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
