CORPUS CHRISTI - This is an exciting time of year in the baseball world. Teams are driving for the playoffs or hoping to spoil the party for other clubs. Fans are scoreboard watching.
Invariably, talk of magic numbers comes up. As the Hooks push for the 2012 Texas League playoffs, you have only one number to remember.
Seven.
No, that's not the Hooks-Missions magic number (Corpus Christi has a four-game lead over San Antonio with 19 to play).
It's the number of remaining regular-season 2012 Whataburger Field home games. Homestand No. 11 is packed with the best of Affordable Family Entertainment.

-Houston Astros legends Jose Cruz and Dickie Thon visit with fans and sign autographs on the main concourse between 5:30 and 6:30.
